1) Hi, introduce yourself to our followers
Hello I am Jordan and this is Mikey. We are Light Year
2) How did you come up with the name "Light Year"?
We had just finished our remix of the Bagraiders - Turbo Love, which happened to be the first track we had done together.
Our label needed us to think of a name as quickly as possible. By total fluke we looked on the back of a Rolling Stones record that was in our studio. One of the tracks was called '2000 Light Years', so we dropped the 's' and the '2000' and kept Light Year
3) How do you describe your sound?
The Light Year sound is hard for us to categorize. We just make stuff that excites us. It could be a sound or a groove, whatever.
Mikey and i like many forms of music, so i guess those influences are represented in the music we release.
Gus from our label came up with the best analogy for our sound that we have heard so far - "futuristic spastic dance funk"
4)What's the plans for the 2011?
Big plans for 2011. Our most recent EP '5 Girls' is being remixed by some of our favourite artists. We are doing some collaborations with some producers from The Bang Gang label, namely The Finger Prince and Flight Facilities. And on top of all this, we want to put out some more original material too. Super Busy!!
5) You're gonna play in Naples on 10th of February. What should people expect from your djset?
Many different styles.
Mikey and i like to create a groove and build throughout our set starting with some housier stuff and working up from there.
But the only real way to find out is to come and see us!
6) We have finished, greets the followers in your preferred language and suggest us a song.
